  18. <p>    Braniff International Airlines, reincarnated almost as often
  19. as Shirley MacLaine, is dead again, becoming the fourth major
  20. U.S. airline to end operations in the past 18 months. The harried
  21. carrier, founded in 1928 and once one of the largest U.S.
  22. airlines, abruptly ceased service just before the holiday
  23. weekend, stranding thousands of passengers. It's the third time
  24. in 10 years that the airline, which claims it is a victim of the
  25. airfare price war, has folded its wings.
